Wisconsin workers fight back

A Reclaim Wisconsin Tour is criss-crossing the state to give citizens a chance to speak out on the local impact of Gov. Scott Walker’s disastrous attack on public services, free collective bargaining and jobs.

The statewide tour began Feb. 15, the one-year anniversary of a Republican-backed bill that curbed collective bargaining for public workers. At each stop, Wisconsinites are signing a pledge to vote to recall Walker, and support a candidate who believes in democracy, shared prosperity, and investing in people. The eight-city tour will culminate with a March 10 rally in Madison.

A petition to recall the extreme-right governor gathered more than one million signatures, almost double the 540,208 signatures required to force an election. The governor is now engaging in stall tactics, asking the courts for yet more time to validate the signatures.
